Week 28

  Week 28 March 28-31 Spring is in the air!  The students seem ready for a much-deserved break. They’ve been working very hard.  This break has a tendency to feel like the finish line.  Please help us by reminding your Firstie that we still have a lot of learning yet to come this year! We have 9 more weeks of growth ahead of us! Please let me know if you will be leaving early for break. This will help with plans for the week. Academic Updates We will: Learn about open vowels and hard vs. soft C/G Practice telling time Continue to work on +/- fact fluency Practice and perform our readers theaters

Week 27

  Week 27 March 21-25 Program Details On March 23 please have your child wear pajamas to school and bring a stuffed animal.  We will be performing for students during the school day. That evening please arrive at St. Joe High School by 5:15.  Bring the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors.  This is a very enjoyable program.  The children have been working very hard to prepare a great show for you!  Academic Updates We will: Learn about Y as a vowel Continue studying geometry and fractions Continue to work on +/- fact fluency Finish up our compare and contrast unit Begin practice for Reader’s Theater

Week 26

  Week 26 March 14-18 Coming up 3-23 1st Grade Pajama Party program!   Program Details On March 23 please have your child wear pajamas to school and bring a stuffed animal.  We  will be performing for students during the school day. That evening please arrive at St. Joe High School by 5:15.  Bring the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and neighbors.  This is a very enjoyable program.  The children have been working very hard to prepare a great show for you!  Academic Updates We will: Focus on the “or” sounds in words like: born, thorn, torn, etc. Continue our geometry unit Begin to study fractions  Focus on the love of learning Continue to work on +/- fact fluency Compare and contrast
