Week 36

  Week 36 May 31-June 3 Kiwanis Park Day Note change: We will now leave school at 10:30.   Information came home Friday about this change as well as lunch order forms.  The school will provide bag lunches, but if you prefer to send your own please indicate this on the form provided.  Please send any lunches from home in disposable packaging.  Teachers will provide water.  Parents are welcome to join us! School lunches are not available for parents. We could use some large coolers.  If you have one that you’re willing to loan us for the day, please label it with your name and teacher’s name, and leave it in the school foyer Monday morning.  They will be available for pick up that afternoon in the same spot.  Note: please apply sunscreen before school.  Students may bring sunscreen to reapply.  Teachers are not allowed to apply sunscreen to children.   Week 35 May 23-27 End of year Happenings There is A LOT going on!  Countdown Today we will be starting a countdown to the end of the school year.  Each day will have a special theme.  Please check with your child every night until the end of the year to see what the special day is for the following day.  Today we will be popping our first balloon of the countdown!  Game Day-May 27 1:00-3:00pm in the courtyard.  This is for the entire First Grade.   Week 34 May 16-20 Animal Projects Wow! These have been so wonderful to see.  The children have been so proud to share their work with each other.  Thank you! Parent Help We will need parent volunteers for a potentially very messy task on Friday, May 20, at 3:00. Please bring your staplers and come help us on Monday, June 6, at 12:00. Please let me know if you’re able to help!  These are things I cannot do alone.  

Week 33

  Week 33 May 9-13 Teacher Appreciation Week Thank you all so much for an amazingly encouraging week.  I loved all the lovely flowers and incredibly generous gifts. I found great encouragement in the numerous notes from students and kind words from parents.  Thank you! It is an honor and privilege to teach your children. Animal Project The work your child has been doing in class will home home monday. Hopefully this information will help you to complete projects together.  If your child has only completed a couple of pages in the packet, please encourage them to work on it at home.     Projects are due on May 13. Home Stretch! The countdown to the end of the school year has begun.
