Week 3

Academic Updates
We are still in a review phase as we continue to develop our routines and procedures. Some things we’ve touched on include short vowels, counting up and back, and skip counting.
We’ve learned some cool structures for working collaboratively.
There are a great many assessments that occur these first weeks of school, as well.
We are working hard on remembering that there is a place for everything in the classroom and keeping everything in its place. This is very hard, but we will keep working!
Most importantly we are learning about each other and how to get along in a large group of people.
Our word for the upcoming week is: teamwork
Ask Your Firstie about….
Finding a “good-fit book”
The difference between an asking and a telling sentence
The math games we played this week
The class stamina for Read to Self
Reminders
We have two snacks daily. It is expected that students bring their own.
It’s going to be hot this week! Please be sure your child has a water bottle.
Field Trips
*We will go on field trips this year and are collecting field trip money again. We ask for $5 per student or $10 per family (max). We would prefer to have families pay this fee using RevTrack. The link can be found here.
