November 7-12

Reminder that Thursday and Friday are half days.  

Academic Updates

  • Our Positivity Project theme this week is bravery

  • We will continue to work on sequencing.  

  • In math we are studying data collection and graphing

  • We will learn more decoding strategies with help from Chunky Monkey

  • We will focus on ending s blends this week

  • Our Spinning Sky unit is in full swing

  • With veterans day this week, we will be making some cards for the veterans breakfast at the high school on Wednesday.  

Fun

Our thanksgiving luncheon will be on Wednesday. Check out Mr. Hubble's blog for more details.

National Origami Day  is November 11.  We will be learning to make some origami in class.

  Week 6 October 4-8 Parent-Teacher Conferences I believe I have confirmed a conference time for each family.  I am very excited to meet with you.  I will email you a reminder the day prior to our scheduled meeting time.  If you selected the option to meet virtually I will send you a link in my reminder email. Halloween Party It’s that time! Halloween at Lincoln School is a fun time.  Costumes are optional, but most children do wear them.  We wear them ALL day, so please make sure your child is wearing something they can sit and move about in easily.  Please refrain from sending any large prop pieces.  For example, an inflatable dragon costume, or Poseiden with a trident would be hard to manage for 7+ hours!   Week 21 February 5-9 Academic Updates We will finish what we started last week! Continue to work on summarizing Review and practice our decoding skills Study Long U words (blue, few, new, clue, stew, etc.) Review long vowels Work on elaborating when we write Build, compare, deconstruct numbers using base 10 blocks Introduce mapping Explore vibrations and sound Valentine’s Day Reminder: all our Valentine enjoyment will be done in-house.  Please do not send anything in. 101st Day Please remember to send in a shirt for your Firstie for this big day!
