Homework

Please check your child’s Friday folder and return the writing assignment. Additionally, please be sure your child is reading for at least 20 minutes each day.

Report Cards

Report cards will be coming home prior to Thanksgiving break.  Grades are given on a 1, 2, 3, 4 scale based on Common Core State Standards.  A 3 is the target.  4 means a child has exceeded expectations.  2 indicates they’re moving in the right direction. 1 means the child is not yet showing understanding of the standard. Each standard that you see listed is what the children are expected to know and be able to do by the END OF THE YEAR.  Because of this, most children will receive 1s and 2s on their report card during the first trimester.  If your child has a 1 in an area that is of concern at this point in the year I will include details on how we can work together to ensure understanding.
