Academic Updates

  • We will learn about Sneaky E in words such as snake, rake, ride, slide, etc.

  • Students will read a variety of fictional pieces as we continue to study character, plot, setting, conflict, and resolution.

  • In math we will work on adding and subtracting ten as a unit.

  • Our positivity project theme this week is knowing that our words and actions affect others.

  • Families, traditions, and the ideas of goods and services will be our social studies focus. 


Ice Skating Field Trip

On Wednesday, December 8, we will walk to the ice rink for the delightful Lincoln tradition of ice skating.  Parents are welcome to join us at the rink–we can always use a hand getting all those laces tied! We will be skating from 12:45-1:25. Hot chocolate will be provided for our walk back.  Although the timing will be adjusted we will still have 2 snacks plus lunch at school. 


Holiday Party

Our holiday party will be on Friday, December 17, from 11:30-12:30.  Parents are invited! We will have games and activities during the party.  The class will enjoy a festive snack in the afternoon. I will send out a sign up this week.

  Week 6 October 4-8 Parent-Teacher Conferences I believe I have confirmed a conference time for each family.  I am very excited to meet with you.  I will email you a reminder the day prior to our scheduled meeting time.  If you selected the option to meet virtually I will send you a link in my reminder email. Week 11 and 12

  Weeks 11 and 12 November 15-23 *Friday, November 19 is a half day. *There is no school November 24-26 in celebration of Thanksgiving. Academic Updates Our Positivity Project theme is gratitude Students will be writing some fun pieces to demonstrate their understanding of sequencing In math we will be working on addition and subtraction fluency within 10 and using strategies to add and subtract within 20 We will focus on ending blends and consonant clusters In our Spinning Sky unit we will be learning about the moon and its phases We will do some fun things for National Disney Day this week Homework Please check your child’s Friday folder and return the writing assignment. Additionally, please be sure your child is reading for at least 20 minutes each day. Report Cards Report cards will be coming home prior to Thanksgiving break.  Grades are given on a 1, 2, 3, 4 scale based on Common Core State Standards.  A 3 is the target.  4 means a child has exceeded expectatio...

  Week 21 February 5-9 Academic Updates We will finish what we started last week!
